The Sierra Leone Football Association’s Premier League Board has officially dismissed a protest filed by SLIFA FC regarding the eligibility of Musa Noah Kamara, a key player for East End Lions FC
. The protest, lodged on January 13, 2025, questioned Kamara’s ability to play for East End Lions FC, citing multiple transfers within a single transfer window and his involvement in the CAF Champions League with Bo Rangers FC.
SLIFA FC argued that Kamara’s transfers—first from Port Authority FC to Bo Rangers FC and then from Bo Rangers to East End Lions FC—were in violation of the Sierra Leone Premier League’s transfer regulations.
They claimed that these transfers were irregular and made Kamara ineligible to participate in the match between SLIFA FC and East End Lions FC, invoking Articles 11.1(e), 11.2, and 11.4 of the Sierra Leone Premier League Rules and Regulations 2023.
In addition to the domestic regulations, SLIFA FC also raised concerns about Kamara’s participation in the CAF Champions League 2024/2025 with Bo Rangers FC, alleging that his subsequent transfer to East End Lions FC contravened both CAF’s registration rules and FIFA’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players. They argued that Kamara should only be allowed to play for East End Lions if registered during the second registration period, as per CAF’s guidelines.
However, after careful consideration of the evidence and relevant regulations, the Emergency Disciplinary and Protest Committee of the Premier League Board ruled that the allegations lacked substance and merit. The committee found no violation of Sierra Leone’s Premier League regulations or international football governing rules, dismissing the protest filed by SLIFA FC.
As a result of the committee’s ruling, East End Lions FC was cleared of any wrongdoing, and Kamara remains eligible to play for the club in the ongoing season.
