Thomas Daddy Brima, the elected President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), has completed the acquisition of Central Parade Football Club, a team in the elite division.
The whole cost of the transaction, which includes the transfer of ownership between Wilberforce Strikers and Central Parade, is believed to be roughly $75,000.
Wilberforce Strikers will play in the Sierra Leone premier league while Central Parade will be relegated to division one football. The Premier League Board is anticipated to execute the name change by the following week.
The Wilberforce community squad finally made it into Sierra Leone’s top flight of football after years of battling for advancement from division one.
Central Parade formerly Cenegal FC, is a Sierra Leonean football club from the capital Freetown, Sierra Leone, currently the team has relegated from the Sierra Leone National Premier League which is the top football division in Sierra Leone to division one following their performance in the 2020/2021 Premier League season. Cenegal FC was the name it first had before being changed to Central Parade, they where first located at the western part of Freetown before being moved to the central part and where they train at the Kay Tee Field playing ground in Kingtom.
Football in the country’s home name, Central Parade Football Club, is presently a division club.
