The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Referees Refresher Course has successfully concluded on Thursday in Bo City.

The initiative, launched by SLFA President Babadi Kamara, aimed to prepare both elite and young referees ahead of the 2025/26 league season.

The program was coordinated by Referees Manager Frankly Angel Foray Marah, in collaboration with the Sierra Leone National Referees Association President, Alhaji Sanusie Rashid, and Acting Referees Committee Chairman, Alhaji Daudu Williams.

As part of the exercise, the refereeing team toured the five regions across the country to conduct training and fitness assessments. A total of 108 referees were shortlisted nationwide and later converged in Bo for the final selection process, which included both fitness and theoretical evaluations.

The closing ceremony was graced by SLFA President Babadi Kamara, who commended the referees and facilitators for their participation and dedication. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening refereeing in Sierra Leone, emphasizing that the integrity of the game starts with the referees.

“My leadership will not allow the integrity of the league to be dragged into the mud,” President Kamara stated. “Refereeing is a long-term career—take it seriously. If any team wins the league, let it be on merit, and if a team is relegated, let it be because they truly deserve it.
