The Sierra Leone U-17 football team has successfully undergone the pre-MRI scan test as part of their preparation for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, WAFU Zone A, which will be hosted in Senegal.

This crucial Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test is a noninvasive medical procedure that provides detailed images of internal body structures, playing a vital role in assessing the eligibility of players in youth football competitions.

All teams in the U-17 category are required to complete this MRI test to ensure compliance with age regulations, and Sierra Leone’s squad has met this requirement.

A total of twenty players from the team have passed this initial assessment and are now gearing up for the final MRI test, which is set to take place in Senegal on October 18, just ahead of the tournament.

Sierra Leone is placed in Group B for the competition, where they will face strong contenders including Mali, Mauritania, and Guinea-Bissau.

The tournament is scheduled to run from October 20 to November 3, providing the young players with an opportunity to showcase their talent on an international stage.

The team’s successful completion of the MRI scans marks an important step in their journey as they prepare to compete for a spot in the prestigious U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
