Sierra Leone head coach, John Keister has said that his team will keep working on their game after narrowly losing to Nigeria in a penultimate AFCON Qualifiers.A
“We will keep working.
“I just have to keep working and whatever happens happens,” Keister said in a post-match conference.
Sierra Leone needed a win to boost their chances of qualifying for the finals in Ivory Coast next year.
Leone Stars leveled the scores after falling behind from two goals by Super Eagles goal poacher, Victor Osimhen.
Goals from Mustapha Bundu and Augustus Kargbo upped the belief of Leone Stars fans but a late goal Kelechi Iheanacho saw the Nigerians return as leaders of Group A with a game to spare.
Sierra Leonean team is made up of mostly home-based players and some pundits have blamed errors made in the two goals conceded to inexperience.
“They are still learning.
Everyday we learn,” Keister defended his players while putting hope on them for the future.
Sierra Leone will play Guinea Bissau on final match day. The outcome of the match will be of less importance to Leone Stars.
