Aspiring Presidential Candidate for Sierra Leone’s main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Mohamed Omodu Kamara, also known as Jagaban has signed a $3 million contract with a Chinese bus manufacturer to equip Sierra Leone with sixteen new 60-seater buses.

The agreement was done during Jagaban’s recent visit to China, which seeks to boost public transportation across the country. The buses are expected to provide citizens with safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation, particularly in remote areas and to lower journey time.

Jagaban, also known as the “game-changer” for the country’s progress, emphasised the need for reliable transportation in accessing healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.

Also in improving mobility, the project will generate employment opportunities for drivers, conductors, technicians, and logistics workers. Training programs will be implemented to help Sierra Leoneans learn the necessary skills to operate and maintain the new buses.

The agreement is seen as a step toward long-term development, with potential benefits for both infrastructure and the local economy. The buses will be supplied and deployed in the coming months as part of a larger initiative to upgrade the country’s transportation infrastructure.
