Sierra Leonean international Kumba Brima has helped her team in Riga FC Women win the Latvian Women’s Premier League. The team pulled off a historic unbeaten season, culminating in their triumph in the Latvian Women’s Football League.
Riga concluded the season with an impeccable record of 21 matches, 21 victories, and a total of 63 points, an extraordinary accomplishment that underscores their dominance within the league.
“This is a moment we truly deserve, after an incredible season, we proudly and officially become the Champions of the Latvian Women’s Football League,” the club said.
Brima made an immediate impact during her debut season with Riga FC Women, contributing 16 goal contributions and finishing among the team’s top scorers. In one UEFA Champions League match, the Sierra Leonean striker netted 4 against FC Flora.
Her journey from FC Kallon Female in Sierra Leone highlights the growing strength and talent of female footballers from Sierra Leone. Recently, the Sierra Leone U-17 female team won the WAFU-A Tournament in Liberia with 7 points. Earlier this year, the senior female team won the WAFU-A Tournament in Mauritania.
