Ibrahim Sorie Koroma a business tycoon was on Thursday 9th October 2025 arraigned for allegedly stealing a black bag containing the sum of ten thousand United States Dollars, a local cash of four thousand, six hundred new Leones and other assorted properties belonging to one John Melvin Kuminah.
The defendant appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.1 on the aforementioned date to answer to a count of Larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 19.16.
The charge sheet alleged that the defendant on the 8th September 2025 at the House of Parliament in Freetown did steal one black leather bag containing the sum of ten thousand United States Dollars, physical cash of four thousand and sixty Leones, one Watts power bank, one Samsung mobile phone and assorted items totaling two hundred and sixty thousand, five hundred and sixty Leones (Nle. 260,560) property of John Melvin Kuminah.
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant no plea was taken.
The prosecutor, Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai sought for a short adjournment indicating that the witnesses were absent in Court.
Magistrate Jah refused the defendant bail and ordered for him to be relocated to the Male Correctional Holden Centre in Freetown.
The matter continues on the 16th October 2025.
