Karpowership, a global leader in power generation, has handed over a fully renovated building to the Variety Children and Family Services Orphanage in Kingtom, Sierra Leone, reinforcing its commitment to vulnerable communities.
The handover ceremony, held at the orphanage, was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Yusuf Burak Rende, alongside local stakeholders and community leaders.
Karpowership Africa Director Hamra Dolusa said the company would continue supporting the orphanage, including covering school fees, monthly expenses, and regular food supplies for its over 675 children.
Director of the orphanage, Mr. Francis, expressed gratitude to Karpowership and urged other donors to help build new facilities in Kerry Town, Waterloo, to meet growing needs.
Ambassador Rende praised the initiative, highlighting the strong partnership between Turkey and Sierra Leone and the broader impact of such collaborations on national development.
The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a new chapter of care, hope, and collaboration for Sierra Leone’s most vulnerable children.
