Sheku Marrah, 22, a welder; Rugiatu Bah, 26, a petty trader; and Musa Bah, 23, a motorcycle rider, made their first appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on charges of theft and receiving stolen property.
The trio faces three counts: one of larceny under Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916, and two of receiving stolen goods under Section 33(1) of the same Act
According to court documents, on 20th September 2025, at Mamudu Town, Gloucester Village in the Mountain Rural District, Sheku Marrah allegedly stole six PVC pipes, half a ton of 12mm full-length iron rods, oil paint, and other items valued at Le 22,290, property of Claudia Sam.
Rugiatu Bah is accused of receiving two large rubber leather shield paints valued at Le 1,300, while Musa Bah allegedly received half a ton of 12mm iron rods valued at Le 7,000, knowing the items were stolen.
When the charges were read, all three accused pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Detective Police Constable 18235 K.K. Thoronka requested a brief adjournment to present his first witness, while defense counsel E.J. Aruna Esq. applied for bail on behalf of the accused.
Magistrate Fornah granted bail to Rugiatu Bah and Musa Bah in the sum of Le 10,000 each, with one surety per accused. The sureties must reside in Freetown and provide valid identification confirming their address. Bail approval is to be confirmed by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
The matter was adjourned to 21st October 2025 for further hearing.
