The National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA) has marked its seventh anniversary, a milestone the institution says reflects its steady transformation into a stronger and more accountable health supply chain system.

Speaking at the commemoration on Sunday, October 26, 2025, Managing Director Jatu Abdulai praised the resilience, teamwork, and national spirit that have driven the agency since its establishment.

Abdulai saluted the founding leadership, including Board Members Dr Lawrence Sandi and Dr Moses Batema, alongside the Senior Management Team, noting that their pioneering efforts laid the groundwork for the present progress. She acknowledged the challenges faced over the years, from systemic constraints to limited resources, yet emphasised that these obstacles fueled innovation rather than setbacks.

We have strengthened systems, enhanced accountability, and ensured that essential medicines reach those who need them most,” she stated. “These accomplishments are a testament to our national service.”

Looking ahead, the Managing Director called for deeper efficiency through increased digitalisation, improved transparency, and a renewed culture of excellence. She said NMSA aims to become a model health supply chain institution within the region.

Abdulai encouraged staff to remain committed and take ownership of the agency’s growth: “NMSA’s story is built daily by all of us. Let’s invest our energy and ideas because when we do, success is inevitable.”

She concluded by expressing appreciation to all employees for their integrity and dedication, reaffirming that the agency remains focused on innovation and purposeful service to the people of Sierra Leone.
