The All People’s Congress (APC) has officially released its Internal Elections Timeline ahead of the party’s forthcoming lower-level conventions and elections, following the successful re-publication of its election rules by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC).

In a public notice issued by the APC National Secretariat, the party said the revised schedule aligns with the provisions of its enabling Act of Parliament and is intended to guide the conduct of internal democratic processes at all levels nationwide.

According to the document dated 15 January 2026, the internal elections process will begin with the publication of the voter and membership register for ward elections on 16 January 2026, followed by ward elections scheduled for 7 February 2026.

The party will publish the delegates’ list for constituency conventions on 8 February 2026, with constituency conventions—including Diaspora chapters—set for 1 March 2026. Delegates’ lists for district conventions will be released on 2 March 2026, ahead of district conventions scheduled for 24 March 2026, including Diaspora districts and branches.

The timeline further indicates that delegates’ lists for regional conventions will be published on 25 March 2026. In addition, delegates for recognised party wings and groups including the Local Council Group, Former Councillors, National Union of APC Students, Former Members of Parliament Group, Persons with Disability Wing, and Associate Groups are scheduled to be published on 22 February 2026.

The APC Secretariat said the timeline is aimed at promoting transparency, inclusiveness, and credibility within the party’s internal democratic process as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle. Party stakeholders and supporters have been encouraged to actively participate and adhere to the established guidelines to ensure a smooth and peaceful process nationwide.

Roadmap Extended to National Delegates Conference

In a continuation of the internal elections roadmap, the APC has also announced dates for higher-level conventions, including regional conventions, special organs congresses, and the National Delegates Conference (NDC).

According to the extended schedule signed by the APC National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq., regional conventions including the Diaspora Sixth Region will be held on 16 April 2026. This will be followed by the publication of delegates’ lists for Special Organs Congresses on 17 April 2026, covering the Women’s Congress, Veterans Congress, and Young Congress. The Special Organs Conventions are scheduled for 9 May 2026.

The APC further confirmed that its National Delegates Conference will take place from 9 to 12 August 2026, marking a critical stage in the party’s democratic and constitutional processes.

Ahead of the NDC, several preparatory activities have been outlined, including the official announcement of the date and venue on 30 January 2026, the submission deadline for proposed constitutional amendments on 8 May 2026, and the formal publication of proposed amendments and the NDC agenda on 8 July 2026.

The publication of the list of eligible delegates is scheduled for 18 July 2026, with objections due by 25 July 2026 and final decisions on objections to be made on 1 August 2026.

APC leadership said the roadmap reflects the party’s commitment to transparency, structure, and internal democracy, while urging members across the country and the diaspora to fully engage in the process.
