The family of the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has donated a 21-seater bus to the Students’ Union Government (SUG) at Njala University’s Bo Campus, in a move aimed at easing transportation challenges and improving student welfare.
The bus was formally handed over on campus by Mrs. Isata Juldeh Jalloh, who represented the Vice President and his family at the ceremony. She explained that the donation was motivated by a deep understanding of the transportation difficulties students face, adding that she shares a personal connection with Njala University.
According to Mrs. Jalloh, the bus is intended to support both academic and extracurricular activities, including official student engagements, field trips, and other campus-related programs. She expressed hope that the gesture would make student life more convenient and productive.
University authorities warmly welcomed the donation, describing it as a timely and impactful contribution. Vice Chancellor and Principal, Professor Bashiru Mohamed Koroma, commended the Vice President and his family for their continued support to education and youth development. He noted that the donation reflects Dr. Jalloh’s long-standing commitment to public service and national progress.
Professor Koroma further praised the Vice President’s discipline, humility, and loyalty to President Julius Maada Bio, which he said have contributed significantly to advancing the government’s development agenda, particularly in the education sector.
Speaking on behalf of the student body, Students’ Union President, Dassay Musa Senesie, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation. He assured the university authorities and the Vice President’s family that the bus would be used responsibly and strictly for its intended purpose, in the interest of all students on the Bo Campus.
As a token of appreciation, the Students’ Union Government later presented gifts to Mrs. Isata Juldeh Jalloh, which she received on behalf of Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and his family.
The donation has been widely praised by students and staff as a significant boost to student welfare and a demonstration of continued support for higher education in Sierra Leone.
