The first cohort of the world-renowned Budapest-Bamako Rally has successfully concluded its Sierra Leonean leg, marking a significant boost for the country’s tourism sector and local economy.

The internationally celebrated rally drew over 700 participants and a fleet of more than 300 vehicles, including motorbikes, all of which crossed the finish line to a rousing reception. The event climaxed with a colourful closing ceremony held at the Gigibonta car park, attracting spectators, stakeholders, and tourism enthusiasts.

Organisers praised the smooth execution of the rally, highlighting a flawless safety record throughout the Sierra Leone segment. Notably, there were no reported casualties or incidents, including at Bureh Beach, where large crowds gathered during the festivities.

The successful hosting of the rally has been widely hailed as a testament to Sierra Leone’s growing capacity to host major international events, while also showcasing the country’s hospitality, natural beauty, and commitment to safety.
