The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has convened an inter–Ministry, Department and Agency (MDA) and private sector committee meeting to finalize preparations for the arrival of the second batch of participants in the Budapest–Bamako–Freetown Rally.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry, Sahr Philip Morsay, who commended MDAs and private-sector partners for their collaboration in successfully hosting the first batch of rally participants.

Officials confirmed that the second batch is expected to arrive in Sierra Leone on 5 March 2026, with about 492 participants and 203 vehicles. Upon arrival, participants will overnight at Bureh Beach before proceeding to Freetown for the official finish-line ceremony at Lumley Beach.

Discussions at the meeting focused on the need for sustained coordination among stakeholders to ensure effective logistics, safety, and a positive experience for visiting participants.

Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthened collaboration ahead of the rally’s arrival, with the goal of delivering a well-coordinated finish-line event that further promotes Sierra Leone’s tourism and hospitality potential.
