The Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security, through the Commissioner of Labour, Sinneh Bockarie, has intervened in allegations of unpaid salaries involving Angel Security and Logistics.

The intervention follows widespread reports circulating on social media alleging that the company had failed to pay its personnel for a period of four months, from December 2025 to March 2026. The affected workers were reportedly stationed at telecommunications sites linked to companies such as Orange, Africell, and Qcell. The viral report further alleged that although payments had been made to the company by these telecom providers, the workers themselves had not received their salaries.

Responding to the allegations, the Chief Executive Officer of Angel Security and Logistics, John Paul Conteh, met with the Labour Commissioner and refuted the majority of the claims. He stated that 90% of the information circulating is untrue, but acknowledged that approximately 100 personnel are owed salaries for two months; January and February 2026.

Mr. Conteh clarified that the affected workers were deployed to Orange sites under a subcontracting arrangement, and that the primary contractor had terminated the agreement without settling outstanding payments. “I have made several efforts to recover the funds owed to us, including engaging the subcontracting company, but payments have not yet been made,” he explained. He further noted that his company does not have contractual relationships with Africell or Qcell, contrary to claims made online.

He also emphasized that the workers in question are no longer under his company’s employment, as they were absorbed by another firm following the termination of his contract. However, he accepted responsibility for settling the backlog owed for January and February.

Demonstrating its commitment to safeguarding workers’ rights, the Labour Commissioner issued a firm directive, giving the company a five-working-day ultimatum to settle all outstanding payments. Mr. Conteh has assured the Ministry that the backlog will be cleared on or before Friday, 29th March 2026.
