The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) is a high-level engagement with members of the Tripartite Steering Committee Secretariat (TSCS) on key recommendations for electoral reforms.

The meeting, held at the ECSL Headquarters Conference Room, Tower Hill, forms part of ongoing collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening electoral processes and enhancing democratic governance in Sierra Leone.

The meeting began on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, and brought together Electoral Commissioners and senior management staff of ECSL to interface with the committee. The Ad-hoc Evaluation Committee is chaired by Deputy Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Philip Tetemah Tondoneh.

The committee comprises representatives from government, political parties, and civil society organisations. Civil society groups represented include the Campaign for Human Rights and Development International (CHRDI), Women’s Forum Sierra Leone, and the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ).

The engagement provided a platform for discussions on the performance and effectiveness of the Tripartite Secretariat. The Secretariat facilitates dialogue and implements resolutions agreed upon by stakeholders following recent electoral processes.

Officials said the assessment aims to evaluate the Secretariat’s impact, identify operational challenges, and recommend measures to strengthen its functionality and credibility.

The ECSL reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaboration with stakeholders to enhance electoral governance and public trust in democratic institutions.

The meeting is part of ongoing national efforts to review and improve mechanisms established to support inclusive political dialogue and electoral reforms.
