The Ministry of Information and Civic Education officially kicked off its Civic Day Series in Pujehun District, with a civic Inter-Secondary School Debate and Quiz Competition at the District Council Hall in Pujehun Town.

The event brought together ten schools from across the district to compete in the quiz category: Wanjama Government Secondary School for Girls, Ahmadiyya Muslim Junior Secondary School, St. Paul’s Secondary School, Galliness Perri Secondary School Bumpeh, Holy Rosary Secondary School, St. Stephen’s Secondary School, Government Secondary School Massam, Every Nation Academy Secondary School, Smart Start Academy Secondary School, and Wesleyan UMC Secondary School.

Sophian B. Massaquoi of Ahmadiyya Muslim Junior Secondary School secured the first position in the quiz competition with a total of 27 points. Mohamed Sesay of Wesleyan UMC Secondary School took second place, while Mary T. Rogers from Smart Start Academy Secondary School and Momoh Kpakamoi Rogers from Government Secondary School Massam both tied for third place.

The debate segment featured six participating schools: Galliness Perri Secondary School, Smart Start Academy Secondary School, St. Paul’s Secondary School, Holy Rosary Secondary School, St. Stephen’s Secondary School, and Government Secondary School Massam. After three intense rounds of debate, Esther Kanu from Holy Rosary Secondary School won first place, followed by Mohamed J. Sama in second place.

The winners were awarded cash prizes, certificates, and school bags, while the runner-up and third positions received cash prizes and certificates of participation.

Overall winning schools also received cash rewards directly from the Ministry of Information and Civic Education in recognition of their contribution to Education.
