The Sierra Leone Police have reportedly arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged death of 30-year-old Fea Korwah, whose body was recently discovered in Manjama Town, Kono District.
The suspect, identified as Aiah Fayai, was arrested by officers attached to the Kainkordu Police Post in Soa Chiefdom during an operation carried out at about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 30th June 2026, in Kaakongor Village, Sawa Fiama Section.
According to the Officer in Charge of the Kainkordu Police Post, Inspector John Saidu Koroma, the suspect was initially taken to the Kainkordu Police Post before being transferred to the Tankoro Police Division, where detectives have taken over the investigation.
Police said the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of Fea Korwah, whose body was found at her residence in Manjama Town after residents reportedly detected a strong offensive odour coming from the house and alerted the authorities.
The incident has generated widespread public interest across Kono District, with residents calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the woman’s death.
The Sierra Leone Police have stressed that investigations remain active and that the suspect is being investigated in accordance with the law. Authorities emphasized that no determination of guilt has been made and urged members of the public to avoid speculation while investigators continue their work.
The outcome of the investigation is expected to determine the appropriate legal action in the matter.
