A fire broke out at the premises of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) Sierra Leone in Koidu City, Kono District, on Wednesday, but was quickly brought under control by emergency and fire services.
Eyewitnesses told Sierraloaded that the blaze only affected some parts of the back of the building and did not reach the main banking area.
An official of the bank, who was not authorised to speak, confirmed the incident and said there was no damage or disruption to banking services.
As at press time, neither the bank nor the emergency services had issued an official statement.
