Guma Valley Announces Emergency Water Shutdown Across Freetown for Burst Main Repairs
Guma Valley Water Company has announced a temporary shutdown of water supply across Freetown on Tuesday, Aug. 4, to allow emergency repairs on a damaged transmission main.
In a public notice issued on Aug. 4, the utility said water service will be suspended from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. as technical teams work to repair a burst on the 22-inch transmission main at Marjay Town Main Road, by the Valve House.
According to Guma Valley Water Company, the emergency shutdown is necessary to facilitate the repair work and restore the integrity of the transmission system.
The company apologized for the inconvenience the maintenance work may cause and assured customers that every effort would be made to complete the repairs and restore water supply within the announced timeframe.
The notice was issued by the management of Guma Valley Water Company on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026.
