Police Urge Pupils to Speak Up Against Sexual Abuse and Drug Use
The Sierra Leone Police have urged pupils of Logos Academy in Moriba Town to promptly report sexual-related offences and avoid the use of drugs as part of efforts to protect young people from abuse and harmful substances.
The call was made on Monday, 21 September 2026, during a sensitisation programme organised by the Community Relations Department of the Sierra Leone Police, in collaboration with the Family Support Unit (FSU).
During the engagement, pupils were educated on the dangers associated with synthetic drugs, including Kush, Tramadol, Ecstasy and other related substances.
They were also cautioned against violence and encouraged to make responsible decisions that could protect their education, lives and future.
The police further encouraged the pupils to speak up and report cases of sexual-related offences to the appropriate authorities rather than remaining silent.
Teachers from the primary and secondary sections of Logos Academy welcomed the initiative, describing the programme as valuable to the pupils.
They called for more police sensitisation programmes to be organised at the school to help strengthen awareness among pupils on issues affecting their safety and wellbeing.
