Dr. Samura Kamara, the Flagbearer and Presidential candidate of Sierra Leone’s opposition All Peoples’ Congress (APC) party in the 2018 and 2023 multi-tier elections, has sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to Ghana’s newly elected President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

The message, released on Saturday, celebrates Mahama’s successful return to power and commends Ghana’s democratic process.

In his message, Dr. Kamara stated, “My heartfelt congratulations to you, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, on your successful political comeback as President of Ghana. Your victory is a testament to the confidence and trust the people of Ghana have placed in your leadership and vision for their future.”

Highlighting Ghana’s democratic achievements, Dr. Kamara lauded the West African nation as a beacon of democracy in the region. “Ghana’s democratic credentials remain another shining example of what the strength and resilience of democracy ought to be in the ECOWAS region,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the APC party, its leadership, and supporters, Dr. Kamara expressed admiration for the peaceful and transparent nature of Ghana’s electoral process. “I salute the people of Ghana for their commitment to democracy and the Electoral Commission of Ghana for respecting the will of Ghanaian voters in their choice of political leadership,” he remarked.

Dr. Kamara also extended his prayers and well-wishes to President-Elect Mahama, expressing confidence in his leadership. “I wish you success in your leadership and pray that Almighty God will grant you the wisdom of Solomon in your Administration.”

President-Elect John Dramani Mahama’s victory has been hailed across the continent, with many viewing it as a reaffirmation of Ghana’s role as a model of democracy in Africa.
