Chief Augustine Tamba, speaking on behalf of displaced families from Yenga, has revealed that the community remains inaccessible to both Sierra Leonean soldiers and ECOWAS representatives.

In an interview with Liberty Online TV, Chief Tamba stated that despite assurances from authorities that Yenga is “free,” security concerns have prevented any visits to the area, including by ECOWAS officials. “If a citizen goes near Yenga, their life is at risk,” he warned.

He added that all meetings aimed at addressing the long-standing dispute between Sierra Leone and Guinea over Yenga have been held in neighboring towns such as Sokoma, as the situation in the community itself remains too dangerous for visits.

Chief Tamba further disclosed that no recent updates have been received from Yenga due to the continued inaccessibility caused by security restrictions.
