A Sierra Leonean based in the United Kingdom, Hassan Samura, has been announced dead, shortly after returning to his home country, Sierra Leone.

Samura is reported to have died at the beginning of his mission to give back to his people through entrepreneurship, leaving his wife and children in the UK.

His death sent shockwaves to his pairs who couldn’t believe their ears when they got the news. They took to Facebook reacting in shock and sadness to his sudden death.

One of his closest friends, Journalist Mohamed Asmieu Bah reacted to his death with emotional message that reads: “Another bleak day in my life. I’m here at the mortuary but I still can’t believe a man I called my brother Hassan Samura, who named his first child after me is gone. We grew up together, slept in the same room, and wore the same jeans and shoes. Our bond became stronger even after we became adults.

“Last week Sunday we spent the whole day reminiscing about our childhood and school days. I never knew you came to say good bye. Death is indeed harsh ND unpalatable. I’m broken ND totally devastated.” he wrote.

With strong expression of shock and emotion, another close friend, BBC’s Umaru Fofana reacted: “What a day! This thing called death! A true friend lost. A good-natured man is no more. Hassan Samura became a good friend ever since he was introduced to me by my friend and brother, Asmieu Bah. We’ve bonded ever since. Returned home from the UK to give back through entrepreneurship. Sadly he can no longer go back to his wife and children. RIP, Hassan. May Allah forgive you.”
