A Sierra Leonean student Abass Papani Kabbia of the Cyprus International University emerged as the best graduate student for the 2023/2024 academic year with.

According to the report, Kabbia scored a total of 36As and 3Bs through out his four year course at the university.

Kabbia joined the university in 2021 to study Molecular Biology and Genetics, a course which is said to have initially doubted by many, but graduated with high honors in all eight semesters, becoming the best graduating student in his department, faculty, and the overall best graduating student of the University.

Kabbia is an alumnus of The Sierra Leone Grammar School who took the WASSCE in 2017 and was admitted to the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) but was unable to complete his course die to grade issue with the administration.

In 2019 he was enrolled at the University of Makeni (UNIMAK) where he study Public Health, where he excelled by achieving 17 As in 22 courses.
