The Press Attaché at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Saudi Arabia, Abubakarr Bah has disclosed that a group of Sierra Leonean domestic workers, including one Kadiatu Dumbuya, are currently held at the detention center in Muscat, Oman waiting to be repatriated to Sierra Leone.
This comes following rumors on social media that Kadiatu Dumbuya was allegedly executed and cremated in the Gul State for reportedly playing part in the death of an Oman girl.
The Press Attaché denied the story, referring it as untrue and baseless. He stated that after thorough investigation, the embassy found out that Kadiatu Dumbuya is alive and waiting deportation due to work related dispute with her employer.

Abubakarr Bah added that the embassy has been in contact with Kadiatu’s relatives and also with the Oman authorities to find ways of looking into the welfare of Sierra Leonean domestic workers in the country.
According to The Exclusive Newspaper, Bah is calling on all overseas employment agencies in Sierra Leone to ensure that such issues are properly addressed before sending workers to the Middle East.
