Sierra Leone’s Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Conrad Sackey has confirmed that the Ministry has received the results for the 2023 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Minister Sackey added the Ministry is working to analyse and release the results publicly on Monday, October 2, 2023.
“We’ve received the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) today. My team is working on the result analysis and the result will be out to the public on Monday 2nd October 2023.”, He wrote.
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is administered to school candidates in the third year of Senior High School and to private candidates. The examination is for both selection to tertiary institutions and for certification confirming graduation from secondary education. It is administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
243,000 students took the WASSCE 2023 examinations in Sierra Leone earlier in May. They include 115,033 males and 128,170 females.
Once the results are released, there will be a delay at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) before they reach the respective schools. However, candidates can check their results online or by using the MBSSE SMS result checker.
