The Sierra Leone Ministry of Basic And Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE) has on the 14th of August 2024 announced the release of the 2024 National Primary School Examination results.
The announcement was made over the country’s National Television, Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation by the MBSSE Minister, Conrad Sackey.
A total of 164,971 pupils sat the exam this year, representing an increase of 1,111 compared to the previous year. This year’s exam saw participation from 4,963 schools, an increase of 173 schools compared to 2023.
While there was a significant increase in the number of pupils taking the exam, a concerning number of 4,557 pupils were absent for all subjects. The ministry has indicated that it will be investigating the reasons for this record-high absenteeism rate.
Haja Namasa Conteh from International School Limited in Freetown achieved the highest score of 344.
The ministry is expected to release further details about the exam results in the coming days.
Congratulations Haja Namasa Conteh from International school.

Why are we no longer getting 400+
What is wrong
My 361 in the year 2000 was not even enough to give me 1 st position in my school.
The best in the country in that year was over 430
At Prince of Wales I met people who got 424, 416, 401 and a lot of 390s & 380s
Great work done, kudos to the ministry of Education and the WACE.
Congratulations to you Haja Namasa Conteh for your hard work…

Can we please get answers to our questions?
1. Why did the result take so long to be released? Former Minister Moina Sengeh used to release NPSE results within one and half months.
This one took over 3 months to be released.
3. How many pupils got promoted and how many repeat?
4. Dr. Sengeh used to announce the first 10 students nationwide, and the first 10 schools nationwide. Why not this year?
5. Why do we have so many students with grades within 100?
