The Sierra Leone Teachers Union (SLTU) has officially launched a National Loan Scheme aimed at supporting teachers facing financial challenges.
A public notice released today outlines the details of the scheme, inviting teachers to apply for loans to ease their financial burdens.
Under the scheme, teachers can apply for a maximum loan amount of Five Thousand Leones, with an interest rate of 10%. The loans are to be repaid in ten equal monthly installments. Application forms can be obtained from the SLTU Head Office, regional offices, and district, zone, or branch officers.
This initiative comes as part of SLTU’s efforts to address the financial difficulties that educators have faced, particularly in light of the collapse of various cooperative societies previously established to support teachers.
Completed application forms must be submitted to the nearest SLTU offices or officers. For those unable to visit in person, submissions can also be made via WhatsApp at 074-048-959 or 099-424-131.
The union strongly encourages all interested teachers to apply for the loan to benefit from this new financial opportunity.
