As per requirements towards entering the Faculty of Communication, Media, and Information Studies at Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone, a total of 274 applicants recently undertook the Special Examination in English Language .
This rigorous assessment is a key requirement for aspiring students seeking admission into various diploma and degree programs within the faculty, aimed at ensuring candidates possess the necessary language proficiency and communication skills.
The examination process was conducted in two phases. On the initial day, 184 candidates participated in the first round of the English language examination.
The following day, November 11, 2024, an additional group of 90 students took a one-time final examination, completing the assessment phase for this cohort.
This examination is a prerequisite for entry into FBC’s competitive Communications faculty, which offers specialized programs tailored to meet the evolving demands of the media and information industries.
Upon successfully passing the entrance examination, candidates will have the opportunity to pursue studies in various fields, including a diploma in Mass Communication or degree programs in Print and Development Communication, Broadcast Journalism, Public Relations, and Marketing Communications.
These programs are designed to equip students with critical skills in media literacy, public engagement, and strategic communication—skills that are increasingly essential in today’s globalized information landscape.
