Rapper Amadu Bah popularly known as Boss La has confirmed on a Facebook live that he was indeed given a bench warrant by the Magistrate of the Court of Sierra Leone. On his video, the rapper stated the reasons why he was given a bench warrant.

According to the rapper, he was given a bench warrant because he failed to show up in court. He made it clear to his fans and family members that, the bench warrant was based on the things that should have gone the right way but they decided to twist them. “All the times, you will hear that, Boss La has been arrested, jailed, etc. but you have never heard that Boss La has been convicted or sentenced”. – he claimed.

“Boss La described how Sierra Leoneans interpret ‘allegation’. He said that when they say allegation, people will take it as fact and when someone makes report, it will be certified as true and the next person is wrong. “I was alleged to have wrong someone few months back. I went to court and there was no conviction which made the magistrate to drop the case. On the same issue, when I was detained at CID, an officer alleged that I bashed at him with a gate. The medical that he did, the name on the medical paper the complaint made was Alhaji Jalloh. My lawyer denied the medical and clarifies my name as ‘Alhaji Amadu Bah’. I was remanded at the Pademba Road (Male Correctional Center” even when my name was not on the alleged medical paper.” – He narrated.

The rapper also shared his experience when he appeared for court over the allegation of the police officer that he bashed at him with the cell gate and locked him up. He said during the court, they brought 3 loaded trucks of army officers. “During the court, when my lawyer asked for a bail, the magistrate said that because the case is between me and an authority, he will not grant me bail. I should go to Pademba Road”. Boss La said. According to the rapper, the statement made by the Magistrate seems like he has already concluded that he is guilty. He said the magistrate should have just convicted and sentenced him based on his opinion. “These are things that I am going through that you are not aware of.” He cried out to his viewers.

Boss La told his fans that he has attended court for nine times while the complainant or Sate failed to attend. “I have appeared court like nine times. But the magistrate always adjourns the matter because the complainant and witness are not appearing. I always left my house at 7:00 to 8:00 AM to attend the court. I have done that nine times without any representative from the complainant or State. I was there when the magistrate said that he will be travelling to the province. For complete 10 days, court sitting didn’t take place. I went to court for the tenth time. The magistrate came back and said he is sick. I went back home and came back the following day where they told me that the magistrate is still responding to treatment”. He narrated.

According to the rapper, the only day that he forgot to attend court was the day the Magistrate ordered a warrant for him after attending for over nine times without the appearance of the complainant and witness.
