Sierra Leonean Movie Clashofera has won the accolade for Best International Short Film at the Liberia Film Awards 2024.

They also took 2nd position at the Journey Home Film Festival 2024 in Monrovia.

This follows after winning the Best Film Award at the Begin Film Festival last year and also bagged a selection at the Lift-off Film Festival in the USA earlier this year.

The writer and Producer, Zachariah Lloyd Sesay took the awards on behalf of the Director Mary Grace Fatoma and the team.

He thanked the organizers for the awards saying that it will serve as an inspiration for them to do more exceptional acts.

CLASHOFERA is a 100% Sierra Leonean Film about a woman in the ancient era who finds a modern phone and forces her husband to simulate habits of a couple she finds in the videos on the phone which her husband believes contradicts humanity’s way of life.

The Journey home film festival  kick off with a two-day screening of both local and international short and feature films at the Paynesville City Hall (June 19th and 20th ), with a drive-in movie night at ERA Supermarket (June 19th Evening), followed by a filmmaker’s workshop at the EJS Ministerial Complex (June 21st ).

The festival culminates with the Liberia Film Awards (LFA) on June 22nd (EJS Ministerial Complex), an evening of glitz and glamour celebrating excellence in filmmaking and honoring outstanding contributions to the industry. “Liberia Film Awards, with its 24 plus categories glamorously celebrate the best of the best in filmmaking in Liberia and the African Diaspora through a ceremony that recognizes excellence in a variety of categories as their commitment to support Liberian and the African Diaspora cinema,” said Den Tut Rayay, one of the festival’s Executive Producers.
