Popular Sierra Leonean folk singer Fantacee Wiz has penned a heartfelt tribute to Colabo, the outgoing president of the “All Stars,” celebrating his remarkable contributions to the country’s music industry.
In a letter shared publicly, Fantacee Wiz expressed profound admiration for Colabo’s leadership, describing his legacy as one “that has spoken so loudly through action” and acknowledging the lasting impact he has made on Sierra Leonean music.
“Your shoes are not merely difficult to fill; they are the kind that leave deep prints in the sand of history,” Fantacee Wiz wrote, praising Colabo for his dedication to elevating Sierra Leone’s cultural presence on the global stage.
The singer highlighted Colabo’s achievements, including leading more than 10 prominent musicians to the Milan Expo in Italy and organizing a tour of the United States featuring over 30 musicians, actors, comedians, and creatives, showcasing Sierra Leonean culture to new audiences. Fantacee Wiz described these feats as “bridges built between worlds” that will continue to benefit generations to come.
He also lauded Colabo’s leadership style, noting that he led with quiet dignity, without ego or prejudice, and understood the importance of listening, walking alongside others, and letting the collective voice guide decisions.
“Thank you for everything you have given to the industry, to the artists, and to the country whose music you helped carry beyond its borders. You remain, above all, a true artist,” Fantacee Wiz added.
As Colabo steps down, Fantacee Wiz emphasized that this moment is not an end but a graceful bow before the audience, ensuring that his legacy will continue to echo long after his tenure.
The tribute concludes with a powerful acknowledgment of Colabo’s enduring influence: “Some names pass through history quietly. Others echo long after the music stops. Yours will echo.”
