First Lady of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, has praised the country’s entertainment industry for its growing role in promoting women’s rights and social change, following her appearance at Famous’ No Pressure Concert held at the prestigious Chapter One venue.

In a statement shared after the event, the First Lady described the concert as glamorous and impactful, noting that despite her busy schedule, she was delighted to attend and witness the powerful connection between music and advocacy.

Dr. Bio, a long-standing champion for women and girls, emphasized that she has been working closely with stakeholders in the entertainment industry, recognizing its immense influence in shaping attitudes and driving positive social messages.

She highlighted that since the launch of her flagship Hands Off Our Girls campaign, bike riders and local musicians have played a crucial role in raising awareness about early marriage, teenage pregnancy, rape, and other forms of gender-based violence through music and creative arts.

According to the First Lady, these efforts have contributed significantly to making such harmful practices increasingly unacceptable in society, a development she described as encouraging and worthy of pride.

She singled out popular artist Famous as a key contributor to the movement, commending his commitment to using music as a tool for advocacy and social transformation. Dr. Bio said the concert provided an opportunity not only to enjoy entertainment but also to connect with people, dance, and celebrate music with a shared sense of purpose.

Describing the show as spectacular, the First Lady congratulated Famous on what she termed a phenomenal performance, applauding his passion for creating positive change through music.
