Renowned Hip Hop artist and Sierra Leone’s Entertainment Ambassador, Kao Denero, has opened up about the sacrifices and challenges he faces in his role, emphasizing that it comes with no financial compensation.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the artist expressed his frustration and the emotional toll of his position. “I just hope people understand what it means to be working for a country or an industry with no stagnant or direct pay,” he wrote. He highlighted the constant criticism he faces, saying, “Being bashed on a constant basis, being misunderstood daily, being bullied regularly. Not everyone is built for this.”
Kao Denero’s remarks shed light on the pressures associated with serving as an ambassador, a role he took on to uplift Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry. While he has been credited with promoting the country’s music and arts scene internationally, the lack of monetary compensation and public support has fueled criticism and skepticism about his efforts.
