Renowned singer Mariatu “M2” Bangura, widely celebrated as the Queen of Sierra Leonean Music, has announced a two-day entertainment showcase in Freetown, scheduled for 3 and 4 April 2026. The announcement was made at a press conference held at Salone Cubana Bar, Low Cost New Road, attended by journalists, media practitioners, and social media influencers.

The program will kick off on 3 April at Chapter One and continue on 4 April at Sugar Loaf Beach, promising fans a mix of live performances, special collaborations, and support for M2’s thirteenth album. Organizers say the shows will feature both national and international artists, including collaborations with musicians from Nigeria and Ghana.

The press conference was held under the banner “Uman Support Uman”, a theme M2 chose to promote unity and empowerment among women in the entertainment industry. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of solidarity, urging women to support one another as a pathway to collective progress and greater representation in music and the arts.

Popular disc jockey Ibrahim Kalokoh (DJ Kallox) praised M2’s resilience and long career, highlighting accolades such as Best Female Artist of the Year, Best Female Song for Sweet Africa, and Best Album of the Year. He noted that she remains the only female artist in Sierra Leone to have released thirteen albums, underscoring her longevity and influence.

M2 also spoke about personal losses that interrupted her career, including the deaths of her mother, father, and sister. She described those years as a difficult pause but said her passion for music never waned. The upcoming shows and the thirteenth album mark a renewed chapter in her career, aimed at creating music that resonates both locally and internationally.

Beyond the April showcases, M2 revealed plans for a nationwide tour with international guests to further promote her new album. She thanked her management team, journalists, dignitaries, and fans for their continued support, pledging to uplift other women in the industry through her platform.

Fans attending the events can expect a blend of classic hits and new material, special guest appearances, and a celebration of female talent. Ticketing and line-up details will be released in the coming weeks.
