Sierra Leonean musician Mohamed Alie, popularly known as Mikeo D Don, has publicly apologized to popular DJ and President of the Sierra Leone DJs Union, DJ Jesse, for verbally abusing him and his mother in an audio recording that recently circulated on social media. The audio sparked widespread controversy online and within the local entertainment industry.
The incident reportedly began after DJ Jesse advised Mikeo to take his music career more seriously. Instead of appreciating the constructive feedback, Mikeo reacted angrily and released an audio in which he not only dismissed the advice but also directed offensive remarks toward DJ Jesse’s mother.
The audio went viral, leading to criticism from fans, fellow musicians, and industry members of the public who felt that the act was unprofessional and insulting.
Mikeo D Don, openly apologized for his behavior and ask for forgiveness, apologizing in a video published on so media.
“First of all, I want to say sorry. I am deeply sorry and I regret my action to abuse the president of the DJs Union, Di Jesse,” he said. “Brother man, I’m sorry. I hope you can find a place in your heart to forgive me. You know we are all brothers, sometimes we misbehave, but I just want to say I’m sorry and my act was wrong. I’m not supposed to do that, and I promise you I will never repeat such act again.”
Mikeo said that it was his first time doing such things and that it will never repeat itself again in subsequent times. Di Jesse is yet to respond publicly to the apology made.
