Sierra Leonean musician Papaklass has responded to the statement by popular music producer Nashito Kulala on the mixing and mastering of Kao Denero’s heroes album.

Papaklass in a Facebook post stated that he is not supporting or buttressing Nashito Kulala statement but said there should be a room for production criticism to achieve growth in Sierra Leone music production.

He said if musicians are looking forward to hit bigger international arenas, they should be ready to move from their comfort zones.

He continued that the production of music should be divided as there should be mixing of instruments by itself and mixing of vocals by itself and must be done by different sound engineers if possible.

He disclosed that there are producers and engineers who do not want their work to be retouched by other producers or engineers, which he said is bad and unacceptable for the growth of the industry.

He concluded by stating that it is good for a musician to also know about sounds and not just lyrics.
