Popular Hip Hop Rapper, Alhaji Amadu Bah widely known as LAJ or Boss La has been arrested by police in Sierra Leone.

This follows after the Inspector-General of Sierra Leone Police, Ambrose Sovula declared him wanted during police weekly Press Briefing held on Thursday at the Police Headquarters in Freetown.

LAJ was declared wanted by the police for public insult & misconduct which is a criminal charge under the 1965 public order act. and a sum of Five Million Leones (Le5,000,000) was placed for any information leading to his arrest.

While reacting to the police statements on Thursday, the management of Boss La’s record label, Red Flag Muzik  said they have not received any invitation either through text, phone call or letter from the police concerning their artiste. They added that, Boss La is a law-abiding citizen who always make himself available whenever he is needed by the police. The management confirmed that, their artiste is safe and fine. They advised their fans and supporters to remain calm.

Meanwhile,  the rapper confirmed his arrest in a telephone conversation on Friday,

According to him, although he was arrested without formal invitation by the Sierra Leone Police, he complied with the policemen despite the refusal of his request to be taken to the American Embassy.

He further revealed that he is  currently being held at a Police Station close to the American Embassy.
