Kadiatu Manasaray is a 28 years old disabled student who has completed her final examination at the mass communications department tagged as the private school of the Fourah Bay College. Kadiatu is expected to graduate soon with a Bachelors Degree in mass communication.

After her final exam she shared her joy with others in social media to celebrate her and to serve as an inspiration to other disables. In her post she said that it wasn’t easy at the beginning but it was worth It. She said, throughout her academic journey, there has been lots of adversity and at a certain point, she nearly gave up.

She added that One thing that kept her thriving all this time was the courage of her accepting who she is without any regrets, no matter what the situation was.

“Today, I want to use this opportunity and platform to thank God, and all those that supported me especially myself, for standing against all odds in fulfilling my dream. Indeed, there is ability-disability! All we need is for society to change their attitudes towards persons with disabilities and give us the platform to perform better” she says.

Kadiatu have achieved this success with great passion to volunteer, has serve, mentor and pass on the wisdom and knowledge she has acquired throughout this journey and above all, has being the voice of the voiceless for women with disabilities.

According to her, Recently, one of her colleagues was brutally raped and killed but none of these media institutions or women activists took up the challenge to give justice to their beloved sister. She added that thousands of their colleagues are facing such trauma everyday but they can’t face the public to explain their situation because their voices don’t want to be heard by those who are responsible for their safety.

”I will be dedicating this Mantle to All women and Girls with disabilities. To everyone, my message to you is, no matter what is thrown at you, no matter how deep the hole is, find a way to bounce back and overcome adversity.” She speaks.
