The construction of a 162-bed children’s hospital at Lumley in western Freetown is at an accelerated pace. The modern hospital is reported to be equipped with modern medical equipment upon completion.
The facility will help converse the need for state-of-the-art treatment for children as the only hospital in the whole country with the expertise to treat children is limited to the Ola During Hospital.
It was reported that President Julius Maada Bio is particular about accelerating work progress to ensure the facility is functional in less than 6 months and ready to serve thousands of children in Sierra Leone and neighboring countries.
Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, and hid Deputy Dr. Jalikatu Mustapha paid a monitoring visit to the 162-bed Lumley Children’s Hospital Construction Site.
