The Ministry of Health has on Thursday, 24th April, 2025 confirmed Fifty Eight(58) New MonkeyPox Cases, resulting to an increase of Five Hundred and Eighty Eight (588) confirmed cases, with One Hundred and Twenty Four (124) new recovery, and One new death resulting to a total of (6) deaths since it broke out.
The official statement further confirmed an increase of Two Hundred and Seventy Eight (278) recovery since the infectious disease broke out. Currently, the active cases has dropped down from Three Hundred and Seventy One (371) to Three Hundred and Four (304).
The Ministry, in shedding light on the cases as confirmed in various districts across the country, formalized that the Western Rural currently hosts an increase of Eighty Three (83) cases, and an increase of Four Hundred and Seventy (470) cases in the Western Urban.
The official report further confirmed that Bo City maintained a total number of Four (4) confirmed cases, and an increase of Eleven (11) cases in Bombali. Four (4) cases in Kanema, Two (2) in Moyamba, with an increase of Eight (8) in Port Loko, three (3) in Tonkolili, One (1) in Kambia, and One (1) in Karene.
However, as confirmed in the recent report made by the Ministry, the Western Areas have experienced a vast increase in new cases as the new record confirms Fifty Three (53) cases for the Western Areas, and just Five (5) new cases for the provincial areas. As the recorded, there has been no M-pox cases in Bonthe, Falaba, Kailahun, Kono, and Koinadugu.
With the an overall increase of Five Hundred and Eighty Eight (588) cases confirmed, according to the Ministry, Three Hundred and Forty (340) are male, and Two Hundred and Forty Eight (248) Female.
The report, which was made on the mid of Thursday, 24rd April, 2025, admonished the public to call on the free toll number 177 for emergency reports on any MPOX case or cases.
