200 young women have officially graduated from the #SHINESALONE Project after successfully completing an intensive solar installation training program.

The graduation ceremony, held earlier today, marks the culmination of months of rigorous hands-on learning and technical instruction aimed at equipping young women with practical skills in the renewable energy sector.

The #SHINESALONE Project, launched as a targeted initiative to address both youth unemployment and the gender gap in the energy industry, has proven to be a game-changer for participants. The programme was developed in strategic partnership with key stakeholders in the energy and education sectors, offering world-class training in solar technology, electrical systems, safety procedures, and installation techniques.

Today’s graduates are not only receiving their official certifications but are also stepping into a growing industry with valuable, job-ready skills. For many, this marks their first step toward professional independence and economic empowerment.

The #SHINESALONE Project has been widely recognized for its role in promoting gender inclusion in STEM fields, particularly in traditionally male-dominated industries such as solar energy.

With the global demand for renewable energy surging, the skills acquired through this programme open up a wide range of opportunities from local installation jobs to roles in project management and energy consultancy.

Graduates expressed pride and excitement about the journey ahead. “My hijab should not stop me from climbing roof to install solar panels” one of the graduates expressed.
As these 200 young women receive their certifications, they carry forward the mission of the #SHINESALONE Project: to empower, uplift, and shine — not just alone, but together
