ACC Deputy Commissioner Augustine Foday Ngobie began unannounced monitoring visits to supervise the training and deployment of field staff for the First Phase of the Economic Inclusion Component of the PSSNYE project.

Addressing trainees and trainers in Freetown, Ngobie emphasized the project’s importance for the socio-economic upliftment of poor households in Sierra Leone and reaffirmed the ACC’s commitment to integrity and transparency.

Ngobie urged field staff to adhere to project plans and avoid activities that could compromise the project’s credibility. He stressed the ACC’s core values and warned against corruption. Supported by the Government of Sierra Leone, the World Bank, and UNICEF, resources have been allocated to ensure the project’s success. Ngobie encouraged staff to reach out to the ACC and other stakeholders with any concerns.

Following the successful rollout of the Social Safety Net project, the World Bank, UNICEF, and the Government of Sierra Leone committed $42 million for the PSSNYE project, which includes an integrated livelihood package for poor households. Eligible households must pass the Proxy Means Test and have not benefited from previous programs. The first phase will benefit 4,000 households, with an additional 2,000 in the second phase, implemented in Falaba, Pujehun, Kenema, Karene, and Western Area Rural Districts.

Enrollment has commenced in the five districts, with teams from NaCSA, ACC, Statistics Sierra Leone, and Orange Mobile Company deployed. The public is encouraged to report grievances related to the PSSNYE rollout to the ACC through toll-free lines: 8515, 077985985, or 077986986.
