In a tragic incident, the Koya Queens Football Club, a prominent female football team, has been involved in a serious road accident on their way to Kenema, where they were set to play their Week 3 fixture in the ongoing Marampa Mines Women’s Premier League.

The accident occurred as the team, including its players, technical staff, and the driver, were traveling to the eastern region of Sierra Leone for their upcoming match against Kahunla Queens FC, scheduled for Sunday, 30 November 2025.

Report confirmed that the majority of the Koya Queens players, along with their technical staff and the driver, sustained severe injuries in the accident.

The nature of the injuries has been described as serious, though specific details about their condition have not yet been fully disclosed. The team was en route to Kenema when the vehicle they were traveling in reportedly lost control and crashed, leaving many of the victims in critical condition.

Several members of the team were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment, and doctors are said to be working around the clock to stabilize the injured individuals.
