Africell Sierra Leone distributed thousands of bottles of water and date fruits to Muslim worshippers across the country during Eid al-Fitr celebrations on March 20, 2026, as part of the company’s broader Ramadan outreach programme.
The company also provided sound systems at prayer grounds nationwide to enhance the experience for worshippers marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Nancy Toure, the company’s Senior Event and Sponsorship Manager, said the initiative reflected Africell’s commitment to giving back during important religious observances.

“Throughout the month of Ramadan, we have actively supported our Muslim brothers and sisters through rice distribution and a special Ramadan television programme,” Toure said. “As we conclude the holy month, it is important to continue this support during such a meaningful moment of prayer.”
She added that the company’s community engagement efforts extend beyond business operations.

“While we are a business entity, we believe in building meaningful relationships and giving back to society,” she said. “This is something we take pride in, and we will continue to support impactful initiatives whenever possible.”
Worshippers at prayer grounds across the country welcomed the gesture, with some encouraging other corporate institutions to follow Africell’s example.
