Renowned Sierra Leonean journalist Amadu Lamrana Bah has expressed his profound grief and heartfelt appreciation to all who supported him and his family following the passing of his beloved wife, Binta Umu Bah.

In a moving message, Bah reflected on the life and dreams of Binta, describing her as a brilliant and determined young woman whose hard work and integrity defined her professional and personal life.

Binta, who tragically passed away on Sunday, was set to graduate with a Master’s degree from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone. She had a stellar career, excelling in roles at Total Sierra Leone, Purposeful, and most recently as a Senior Human Resources Assistant at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Sierra Leone. Her professional journey was shaped by mentorship from Patricia Jangah, one of Sierra Leone’s leading human resource professionals.

Bah recounted the couple’s shared dreams, including plans for a vacation to the United States and their hope to have twins, whom Binta had already excitedly named. “Binta was a beautiful soul—loving, humble, respectful, and endlessly supportive,” he said, highlighting her unwavering commitment to faith, family, and charity.

Despite her private nature, Binta left a profound impact on those around her. A devout Muslim and Hijabi, she prioritized charitable contributions to Islam, no matter how little. Her loss has been especially hard for her husband, her mother Nenneh Hawa, and their close family members.

“Losing someone so suddenly is a pain beyond words, and grieving will be a lifelong journey,” Bah shared, expressing his deep sorrow while praying for Allah to strengthen him and his family during this difficult time.

He concluded with gratitude to all those who offered comfort through visits, calls, and messages, apologizing for not being able to respond to everyone individually.

“May Allah be pleased with Binta and grant her Jannatul Firdaus,” Bah prayed, vowing to cherish her love, memories, and goodwill forever.

Binta Umu Bah’s life was one of excellence, integrity, and compassion, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
