Hon. Lahai Marah, the Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC) in Falaba District, was arrested on Sunday by the Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Sierra Leone Police at Mongo.
Details surrounding the arrest remain scarce, and the cause is currently unknown.
Sources confirmed that the APC District Chairman was arrested while traveling to Freetown and is currently being transported to the capital with police escort. Authorities have stated that further details will be announced later.
Hon. Lahai Marah is a prominent political figure in Falaba District, having previously represented Constituency 042 as a Member of Parliament.

Prior to the last general election in April 2023, he stepped down from his role as MP to concentrate solely on leading the APC party as District Chairman.
