The Director of Strategic Communications in the Office of the President, Myk Berewa, has stated that one of the major reasons the previous APC-led government was voted out of power was due to its handling of the education sector.

Berewa argued that the frustration of citizens over the deteriorating state of education under the APC contributed heavily to their electoral defeat. “Education was poorly managed, and that became one of the deciding factors for voters,” he noted.

In defending the current government’s Free Quality Education (FQE) initiative, Berewa emphasized President Julius Maada Bio’s commitment to improving access, resources, and outcomes across schools nationwide.

He maintained that the FQE program is a cornerstone of the administration’s agenda, aimed at reversing the setbacks inherited from previous years and ensuring long-term investment in Sierra Leone’s future.
